Passion is the seed Michigan-based Enthaltec sows to help cannabis growers sprout improved operations

Since the passage of the Michigan Regulation and Taxation of Marijuana Act in 2018, the cannabis industry has precipitously grown in the state. Already the third largest cannabis market in the country, MJBizDaily forecasts sales in Michigan will reach $2.5 billion by 2025.

Legal cannabis in Michigan is spurring new businesses, new jobs and new business-to-business partnerships. And having those partnerships is critical for cannabis growing operations as they aim to secure a long-term foothold in such a competitive, ascending industry.

Ralf Scharnowski, who works in business development for Enthaltec —a cannabis climate control solutions company — said the cannabis industry comes with its own set of challenges. For growers to obtain long-term achievement in the industry, it’s not solely about finding vendors with experience but rather finding partners that commit to helping them overcome any obstacles along the route to success.

“We prototyped for a year with a grower based here in Michigan in a greenhouse mix-light grow and really worked closely,” he said. “We partnered with them to make sure we completely understood the challenges they were facing. We took those challenges to heart and came up with a lot of tools to help growers grow more effectively.”
